I understand that most individuals have to work in a workplace full of other people and personalities, and maybe feel that it restricts their personal freedom in many ways. I also have seen family members bite their tongue to not offend a loved one, even though they wanted to speak their peace. Is there a way out?
In my case, my sense of freedom has changed over the years. I have promised myself not to do anything I don’t want to do, not to join anyone in a cause just because they want me to, I don’t march with a group of supporters just to fit into society. I also have an honest relationship with my friends; they know that I expect my life to flow easily, comfortably, and conveniently.
But most of all, freedom means to me that I can be who I truly am without restrictions. Of course, in a good sense, I wouldn’t abuse this privilege. It signifies that I can express myself honestly, that I can live the life I choose to the best of my ability, and that I do not have to adhere to social by-laws and rules, as long as I contribute to the goodness of all. My freedom is my responsibility to appreciate, enjoy life, and respect all living beings.
My freedom is my spiritual connection to the Almighty Power, which in turn allows all of the above to happen.
