Having material things is not necessarily the end all. It’s just part of right thinking about wealth. How do we think correctly about having plenty?
Creating abundance means changing our sense about the meaning of the word. When we hope for riches, yet we say, ‘I don’t have enough, I’m poor, and I lack money,’ the Universe will respond saying, ‘OK, you don’t have enough, you’re poor, and you lack money.’ But if we say, ‘I have plenty, I am abundantly supplied, I have everything I need’—no matter what the circumstances of our lives are at this moment—the Universe will repeat those thoughts and bestow all the goods upon us. However, when practicing, we cannot simply say those words without sincere conviction. We must believe them with all of your heart. We must feel abundance coming from everywhere. We must appreciate every good that comes our way, no matter how small. We must see ourselves enjoying these goods and generously contributing more good (and I’m not talking material things) to the world.
Try it, and you will see a change in your pocketbook!
