People show up in our lives for many reasons, but all of them are mirror reflections of what we need at that point in time. Good or bad, friendly or cruel, they appear as a reminder of lessons to be learned. Some friendships wither away quickly and some will last a life time, it’s all in our perception of what we lack at the time. So, what can we learn?
Is it patience we must practice or does the other possess a quality that we admire? Is the other full of enthusiasm for life, which we might have forgotten? Are we easily hurt and need a lesson in courage?
Even if we meet someone that exhibits a character trait that we no longer appreciate, we must look at that unpleasant, or maybe unkind, individual with compassion. See their pain and struggles, and then move on with our own wonderful sense of gratitude for all the good in our lives. Mentally detach and leave their negativity behind, move toward the light, not darkness.
I’m asking you today: Are you comparing yourself to others? Do you want to be like your friend or neighbor? Are you dissatisfied with what you have accomplished so far? If yes, why not embrace who you are and what you stand for?
We must understand that we are already perfect and good by nature, and that we are individual particles of the God-power. Taking command over our own destiny takes courage and willpower, however, we must acknowledge the fact that we are in charge of our own lives. We must know that we are the captain of our ship and we can decide which direction to go. We have the power to do so.
However, we will meet people day in and day out, so let us only spend time and converse with people who represent who we want to be. Let us seek out the individuals who inspire us, cheer us on, and wish us well. Stay close to the folks who have the same goals, aspirations, and, better yet, are already at their best. Let us learn as much as we can, observe, and know that the power of success is already within us. As I said before, we are already perfect and good, we just must apply what we know; and see our friends, family, acquaintances, and any one that crosses our path as a wonderful present bestowed onto us from the Almighty Universe. Thank you, to all of you who have shared my path along the way!
