Letting go of painful experiences

Letting go of painful experiences seems like a daunting task at times; but this 'letting go' is a necessary healing process. We don't know that at first and so we hold on to the memory of the hurt. We feel justified and defend our emotional reaction like something of value.

Painful happenings can occur from a variety of reasons, may it be a betrayal of a friend or loved one, may it be rejection or criticism, whatever the cause is, it stings – no doubt about that.

But often this painful experience occurs, because we have outgrown the old and are being pushed into a new and better situation. We no longer belong in this lower mental frequency and therefore we must see the new, better path in front of us. Turning this seemingly negative occurrence into a positive one is the key.

So, first of all let us say 'thank you' to the Almighty Power for showing us the way and let us be grateful for what's in store next.

Our mantra should be: Don’t fight life; live it! Because, when we think that we have to fight life and its challenges (even for a good cause) we block our inner positive energy. We toss our otherwise calm mental state out of balance. We should support, help, love and nurture good causes, but we should not fight anything. Fighting is the opposite of being at peace, and only peace can bring us harmony and lasting happiness.

So, the moral of the story of ‘Letting Go’ is this: When someone hurts your feelings, it is only because you allow it to affect you. Remember, it is not about you but about them. They most likely have undealt issues and are lashing out. If you have been lied to, know that the person is a fearful or manipulative individual, so it’s time to let them go. If you were criticized, remember that you are perfect and good. I could go on and on with examples, but I think you got my drift.

Love thyself and let go of hurt feelings, because you are the one who suffers – and who needs that?
