People that feel lost haven’t found their purpose yet. They are looking in all the wrong places and think that their sense of belonging comes from an outside source. They need others to validate them and their core understanding is rooted in the belief that this world is the real thing.
Here is where your appreciation comes in again and again. Appreciation for your own good self, your being a pure Soul and everything that you experience and the world you live in. Once you have a loving sense of self (not just of the other – you have to love who you are) you will find your purpose.
Your purpose should always have a component of ‘serving others’, be it in a helping way (for example Social Workers, Nurses, Doctors, Lawyers) or education (Teachers of all sorts of subjects for children and adults) or inventing a more convenient tool to make someone’s life easier (think of all the manufacturers that produce anything from furniture to gadgets), Military, Builders and Entertainers.
There are many ways to help and server others; most of all professions are designed to be of service in one way or another. You know what’s right for you when you find it. Just listen to yourself!
