Don't take everything so personal...

The various daily thought work-outs will most of the time include “other” people. There will always be friends, family, or strangers who will touch our lives in one way or another. Dealing with people is a delicate subject. Many times there are emotions involved, especially with family. We take things more personal and our expectations from close associates are higher than they should be. Expectations of someone else will always lead to disappointment.

We want people to be and act the way we see fit, but everyone has a different view point, a different story to tell. However, no matter what the circumstances, we think we know better. I know, we all mean well, but the Law of Individuality doesn’t work that way!

So be prepared to let go of your opinions, preconceived notions, and past hurts. For instance, speaking from a mental viewpoint, can someone really hurt you unless you react to it and believe they can injure you?  Aren’t you the one that thinks and feels hurt about the things said or done?

When we try to correct the other, we assume that we know better. Do we really know better? Are we experts in someone else’s life? I’m certainly not. I can only be that expert for my self.

Are you taking responsibility for your reactions and feelings, or do you believe it was someone else’s fault? These are hard questions, but they must be asked. The honesty and courage I spoke of earlier will support your journey.

Let’s start to focus on self. And I will continue to remind you, that you are the most important person in your world, as I am the most important person in my world. This is not thought of from an egotistical view point. Trust me, from a worldly sense, my son takes that badge.

But we cannot play an important part in someone else’s life until we have understood this fact. Only when we accept ourselves as the wonderful being of light that we are, can we shine this loving light onto others.
