Do we have control over our health? by ULRIKE

Health is the most important gift in life and must be cherished. A no-brainer you say, but unfortunately we abuse our bodies constantly by over-eating, drinking excessively, smoking, using drugs, over-scheduling, not getting enough rest, and inducing stress. We make all kinds of promises at the beginning of the year and by the end of the month all pledges are forgotten.

We are afraid of all kinds of diseases and pop pills, over-medicate ourselves, and believe everything we hear on the news. Why is this so? Why buy into all of the hype from the media? Why scare ourselves constantly?
We see your parents die from a heart attack or a friend from cancer and we believe with all of your heart that it could happen to us too. And it is so. What we fear most has “come upon us”. This is the Law. Fear itself will eat us from the inside out.

Let us be clear without judgment: Our health is the visible manifestation of our beliefs, thoughts, moods, and dispositions. The Law of Attraction works the same for health, wealth, and happiness. Many people understand that they can attract more money or a better relationship, but think that they are helpless when it comes to health. However, we can learn to think not only abundant thoughts but also healthy (healing) thoughts. This wholesome thinking, coupled with healthy behavior and a healthy life style, will let us experience a change in our body and mind. It has been proven that our body responds to our daily attitudes and the feelings of wellbeing. Our body is the faithful servant of our mind, and therefore we are in charge of our mental and physical health.

Remember, you – your consciousness, your Soul – is in charge of everything that befalls you every day of your life. That includes health. A healthy mind reflects a healthy body; a sick mind reflects a sick body. Stressful thoughts will tighten the muscles; inflexible thoughts will stiffen the bones. The list is long and I have addressed more of these examples in the upcoming “Health” booklet. For now, be assured that every thought of ease, peace, and happiness will bring forth better health. Be well my friends!

Why hurry? We have all the time in the world...by ULRIKE

“Hurry!”, “Rush!”, or “Don’t wait—act now!” Advertising campaigns send these messages to us every day. “C’mon, let’s go!” is what we’ve been programmed to say the minute the light turns green and the car ahead of us hasn’t moved. If a car stops in the middle of the road trying to squeeze into a parking spot that just opened up, it blocks the traffic and we honk our horn and get the finger in return. Is that really behavior of a mature adult? Or is it the manifestation of impatience and an inharmonious state of mind?

We feel the same way when we have to sit for an extra second or two as our computer downloads information we believe we need - immediately! You get antsy staring at your screen and sigh. There is no patience in this type of behavior and it destroys the natural harmony of the body.

Other everyday hurry-syndromes are: we have to run because we’re late to an appointment, we hurry to work, we hurry to pick up the kids, and we hurry to accomplish all the chores on our list. Isn’t that rather a picture of poor time-management or a reflection of an over-scheduled day? Where is the enjoyment?

We think we constantly have to be on the run not only because we fear being late, but this rushing around also gives us a sense of accomplishment and a wrong sense of being busy. Notice how we always have to run to some place; we are always on the go. “I’m so busy all the time,” we complain, “I have no time to myself.” We justify what we do, this busyness, to validate our being. This running around is a wrong sense, (did you hear me say “wrong sense”?) thinking that we are not getting things done in time or we are not being useful, helpful or industrious – aka we’re not worthy. The more we run around, the more we feel we are actually “doing” and this “doing” makes us feel that we are productive. However, this is a mistake and it’s quite the opposite. You are worthy by nature.

Another reason for this sense of hurry is that some of us are constantly thinking that we are missing out on something, somewhere. It’s like we want to cram as much as we can into our lives, let’s do it all before we die, let’s see, taste, smell, touch and hear all there is to experience because we are looking on the outside for happiness. What does this rushing around do to us? It does not make us calm, relaxed or happy; no, this hurrying makes us anxious and edgy. So ask yourself these questions: What is the rush? Why am I hurrying so much? Accidents occur when we hurry. Our health suffers. Our loved ones see us in a state of frenzy. Is it worth it?

When do we take a moment, even a quick one, to understand that there is time for everything worthwhile, if we allow ourselves to take that time for ourselves and our spirit. Certainly, some deadlines cannot be avoided, or emergencies arise which command your time. Yet, such occasions are not day-to-day occurrences. There is enough time for everything worth doing, even if you have a full schedule. Prioritize and I’m sure you will find the time to do the things you want to do. I’m certain that you will make time to visit dear friends or attend a concert that you’ve been looking forward to. I’m sure you will find the time for whatever strikes your fancy.

The truth is we have all the time in the world. Just do one thing at a time, and go on calmly with your daily business. This relaxed state of mind will save you the time you think you don’t have. Let’s not hurry so much through life; everything will be done in due time. There is no need for me or you to hurry.

Say to yourself each day: “All is good and I am a perfect being of light. I am self-sufficient, I am self-confident, I am strong, I am able, and I am good at everything I do because I love what I do. I have all the time in the world.”

Imaginary Control

In this world, control is a major factor to many people. Businesses and work environments are controlled by upper management and business owners. Politics and world economics are controlled by politicians and economic leaders. Even families are controlled by certain members. You control your children. Or do you?

Control over others is not a good idea because it takes away the God-given ability to choose and limits the individual’s self-sufficiency. Yes, we need rules and guidelines. But control is an extreme form of diminishing other people’s power.

Having been an executive in the corporate world, I understand that someone has to be in charge. This means the department leader needs to sustain control over employees, suppliers, and sub-contractors or else the workplace becomes chaos. It is the manner in which control is delegated that matters. Being in charge does not mean being controlling.

When you realize that you are in charge of your own life, your need to control others will diminish. You will allow others to be themselves and make decisions. You will be more trusting.

When you reach a higher level of understanding, you will even allow yourself to be free of controlling yourself.

Look at the illusion of control. How many corporate executives, no matter how much control they believe they have, foresaw the possible collapse of Greece or the damage incurred by Hurricane Katrina or the electrical blackout that left parts of Arizona, Mexico, and California without power for more than twenty-four hours?

In today’s digital world, power dissolves quickly. Those spiritually prepared will survive. They will always know how to sustain themselves. They will always find a way to revitalize their individual world and they will play a positive part in the collective world.

When you let go of this imaginary control, you will happily give yourself to the Universe and trust in the Allness of Good. You will understand that Life wants you to succeed and, with this perfect trust, everything will merge together seamlessly. All will be just right, flawless, and wonderful.

Gratitude - Allow your radiant circle of light to illuminate your being! by ULRIKE

What is gratitude’s role in the journey of our lives? What does gratitude really mean, how does it feel and how does it work? Here are some thoughts to ponder:

Gratitude is a feeling that results from honest appreciation. Appreciation of the life we already have. It is a knowing that we are blessed no matter what the circumstances are in our current life. The surest way to a better life is through gratitude and an appreciation of even the smallest things. I would suggest to pay attention to your thoughts first thing in the morning and to observe what comes to mind.

Are you waking up smiling, ready to enjoy a day at work, ready to stroll through a park, jog at the beach, or meet a friend for lunch? Are you ready to embrace your children and your spouse or significant other? Are you prepared to love and act kindly? Are you excited to see a new day and look forward to new adventures? Are you ready to learn?

Or, are you unhappy and resentful the minute you open your eyes? Are you miserable already, even though you haven’t put on your clothes yet? Do you dread going to work or resent not having a job to go to, spending the day with an elderly family member? Are you still upset over a meaningless argument from the night before? Are you bored and don’t know what to do with yourself today or any day?

Yes, this is what I do every morning: I observe my mood, my thoughts, my overall feeling of health and well-being.

Wake up every morning ‘giving thanks’ and end the day with a ‘grateful heart’

Saying “thank you” to the Universe, the Almighty, God, Higher Consciousness, (or whatever your name for this all-inclusive, good force is) with sincere appreciation puts us instantly into a positive frame of mind. Gratefulness will catapult us to a higher frequency and will trigger loving thoughts naturally.

Even while sleeping, our subconscious is working, digesting and systematizing our day’s experiences and impressions. It will register the mood encountered while dozing off. Going to sleep with a grateful heart will let us rest a lot better than a worried and disturbed mind. When we expect the next day to be even better, and greater, we will be closer to our goal of happiness.

I also suggest that you watch yourself during the day and listen to your inner dialogue. Do you easily get discouraged or angry? Does your temper rise quickly? What triggers your mood to change? No matter your present circumstances, acknowledge and be grateful that you are not a helpless human being, struggling to survive. You, at this point of your unfoldment, know that you can change your situation according to your sense about the situation.

Our true substance is Wisdom, Goodness, and Intelligence.  Our true nature is mental in origin. It is our Soul that does the living, not our body. Our body is the visible expression of our Soul. So let us be grateful for the body we have, and treat it with respect and kindness. It is the only body we have here on this plane, and it should be treasured.

What about the unpleasant experiences? Should we be grateful for those?

It’s easy to be thankful for good things, but what about things and situations that “look” bad? Continuously dwelling on the wrong situation, or person, feeds energy into these negative emotions, which in turn energize the wrong thought patterns. It’s a vicious cycle. Stop these feelings when you feel them coming on. Believe it or not, bad experiences are really good. They are a lesson; they are what we need to progress at the time. They are blessings.

Like anything else, it gets easier with practice, and this practicing will keep our focus on what’s right rather than on what’s wrong. A seemingly bad situation is only another opportunity for us to make a change in our lives.

We have a choice: we can either continue to dwell on the past and the thoughts that led up to our mood, or we can say “No, I will not think such wrong thoughts again.” We can acknowledge the situation, feelings, and emotions for what they are, or we can continue to suffer. It is up to you and me to make that choice.

How grateful we should be to be able to switch unpleasant things around. We only have to change our view of the situation. Each experience helps to complete the puzzle of Life. Each challenge that is solved by you and I is necessary to make us whole. Allow your radiant circle of light to illuminate your being!

Sowing Seeds of Peace by ULRIKE

When talking about peace I am not just speaking about world peace, I am speaking about the peace within. The fact is that in order to contribute to the grand vision of world peace we have to find our individual inner harmony first. Today’s world struggles with conflict of all kinds. Wars, civil unrests, internal battles, and personal hostilities are on the daily agenda. We cry for a solution to the problem, but we overlook the obvious: We must heal ourselves first.

How do we start? What must we know in order to contribute to the change? The primary facts are: Life in itself is intelligent, and we, as part of this intelligence, are composed of this primal substance. We are complete within ourselves. However, we have allowed ‘reacting’ to outer circumstances rather than acting rightly about them, and therefore have lost this natural peaceful demeanor. The fight is not outside of us, it is within. And we reflect our internal turbulence, echoing it into the Universe.

“In the last analysis, life is found to be nothing but sense”, is stated by one of the great metaphysicians William W. Walter in the early 1900’s. Life, boiled down, hidden behind the veil of all perception, leaves a purely mental essence. Truth, Life is mental.

However, most people confuse self-knowledge with knowledge. Humankind, and their egos, assume that being knowledgeable means to also know your “self”. This is not so. Many intellectuals, men of great earthly knowledge, act from their ego-consciousness and do not know themselves at all. The true essence of the person remains hidden. Ego does not allow Spirit to shine. Ego is threatened by Truth. The ego is a peace-disturber, a troublemaker. It wants more and more, it doesn’t stop or find satisfaction, as it looks to outside pleasures instead of within.

The inherent and characteristic goal of unfoldment and growth, striving to expand, is fully misunderstood by the ego-mind. It sees this task as an accumulation of material riches and status, worldly powers you might say. However, the spiritual mind knows that the unfoldment of self consists of the humble awakening of Truth within. We have to expand our minds beyond our five senses. To truly ‘sense’ is to go beyond your accustomed limited perception. Mind always seeks to know and to expand its awareness. We all have the gift. We are all blessed with the same potential and abilities. We just have to start using these gifts.

Our work is to observe this inner sensing that is going on at all times. Can we accept ourselves as the dynamic, powerful, yet peaceful Soul we are? Or do we see ourselves as struggling, confused, and always in a hectic state? Where is our inner peace? What happened to this natural harmonious disposition?

Let us begin, step by step, and one day at a time. Because, once we have mastered this inner harmony we can start sowing the seeds to include our surroundings and loved ones. Once we have found this stillness and calm within, it will naturally and effortlessly contribute to a grander picture. It will spread easily, and flow with the natural current of the Universe. It will certainly contribute to a better life and manifest into world peace, as we are part of Collective Consciousness, which is connected to the All-mighty Universal Source.
