Discovering Yourself

"All evil, sickness and discord of any kind must be understood to be the result of wrong mental activity and wrong thinking."
~ William W. Walter

The fight is not between you and the outside world, your neighbor or your family. The fight is within you. It is between what you are accustomed to and what is right and good.

You have to choose to find your true Self. You are far more than your physical body or your accomplishments in this world. You are even more than your current thoughts and emotions. Everything you experience, feel and think that you are, is only a fraction of your true nature.

Think about the times that you talk to yourself out loud. Who are you talking to? Isn’t it like you are two people? One ‘you’ that is here and one ‘you’ that listens, and advises because it knows better? You trust this inner ‘you’ and you constantly ask for its guidance.

What is this invisible ‘you’? Well, it’s a more spiritual ‘you’, a more intuitive ‘you’, and a ‘you’ that is in tune with consciousness. Not the perfect ‘you’ yet, but a more connected version of ‘you’.

Where is heaven? What is Heaven?

Many of us grew up with the religious belief that heaven is a place, which we will reach once we die. Or not. Maybe we’ll get stuck in purgatory. Maybe we’ll…do what?

We’ve been also told that we have guardian angels, spiritual beings who protect us from harm. Or not. Maybe they protect us sometimes. Maybe they…do what?

The concept of heavenly angels, being exceptional beings, coming down from the heavens to aid and protect you, has been all over the world in one way or another. Religious teachings, calling the angels ‘messengers of God’ in some mysterious way, are outdated. This surely is a material belief in a material world, and there is nothing mysterious about what I call “our angels”, which are our right thoughts, because our world is mental in nature - not material.

Heaven is a harmonious state of mind, and of course this harmonious state produces good, right, calm, loving, and charitable thoughts. Heaven is a self-made state of mind, created by you and I. It is not a far off place, but right here in our hearts, our consciousness.

So again, yes, the angels or right thoughts come from heaven, our harmonious state of mind. Those angel-thoughts protect and lead us, and help us through the rough times. Those uplifting thoughts give us hope and courage. We certainly can call on them anytime we need guidance, as they are within. Isn’t your right thought a God-sent message?

Do you ever listen to yourself and know intuitively what is right and wrong? Do you think that you are a victim of circumstances, or do you fully realize that you hold the power to shape your life in your own hands?

Everything in this Universe is mental, always has been and always will be. So, the angels are spiritual visions, produced by our own sense perception as needed. To say it in a few simple words: look at this phenomenon and realize that the heavenly messenger is you for you, and from within – always.

Our heaven, or hell, is also made by us - for us, right here and right now. However, the wonderful message is, that since we are the makers of our destinies, we can change any unpleasant experience. Yes, let me assure you, we have this power, and therefore heaven will be ours if we just grab it!

The meaning of colors:
I love colors- the wide range of shades of color, musical notes, mathematical numbers, and the abundance of flowers, animals and so forth, are all examples of the limitlessness of the Universe.
Let’s explore some of the meanings and effects colors have on us.
The sun, the symbol of energy and love, with its life-giving warmth and its bright Yellow or Orange glow, invigorates us. It is a well-established fact, that regions with a lack of sunlight have a higher depression and suicide rate. Looking at the sun’s light releases endorphins, which are known to stimulate good feelings in the brain.

Light bright colors tend to make you feel terrific and lighter. ‘Light’ is always associated with the positive, and ‘dark’ with negative emotions and moods. You have heard the expression ‘he/she is a dark person’.

Here are some interesting, known, fun facts I found in my research:
Red stimulates your emotions and passions. This powerful color is intense and makes you feel excited. Red is the warmest of all colors and is most often chosen by extroverts and one of the top picks of males. In China, red is the color of prosperity and joy. On the negative side red can mean hot temper or anger. ‘I saw red when I heard this’ or ‘He makes me see red’ are common expressions.

Red and Yellow have been known to stimulate appetite. Yellow is also the highest attention getting color due to its high reflection of light. Why do you think the colors of McDonald’s are Red and Yellow?

Orange means vitality. People who like orange are usually thoughtful and sincere. I thought orange would also show playfulness- but no mention of this thought found.

Yellow symbolizes wisdom, joy and happiness. People of high intellect tend to favor yellow. Like the energy of a bright sunny day, yellow brings clarity and awareness. The shade of yellow determines its effect: Yellow-green can mean deceit, and creates a disoriented feeling. Orange-yellow imparts a sense of establishment. Clean light yellow clears the mind, making it active and alert.

The color Blue, studies show, is preferred by men (most likely right after red?). It stimulates calmness, serenity and tranquility. People seem to be more productive in blue rooms. Looking around me, I realize that my office and writing space is painted a light blue and a pretty aqua.

Blue is an orderly color- but it can also be related to sadness. Remember the phrases ‘I’m having the blues’, I’m blue without you’ or ‘Blue Monday’?

Blue has also been found to be the least appetizing color; there are not many blue food items. Blueberries…what else?

The color Aqua is associated with emotional healing and protection. Light Blue is accredited with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness.

Purple is the color of good judgment and is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use in meditation. It is the color most favored by artists. Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty.

Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility and is also the ‘lucky’ color. Green is favored by well-balanced people and symbolizes the master healer and the life force. It was believed green was healing for the eyes. Old drawings show that Egyptians wore green eyeliner. Studies show you should eat raw green foods for good health.

Abundance and health also fall under the color Green, with Olive green being the traditional color of peace.

Brown is the color of the earth and is associated with the material side of life. Brown is a mixture of red, blue and yellow and can be a stabilizing color. Brown gives a feeling of solidity, and allows one to stay in the background, unnoticed. Some shades of brown create a warm, comfortable feeling of wholesomeness, naturalness and dependability.
Gray is the color of sorrow. People who favor gray can be loners or narrow-minded. Native Americans associate gray with friendship. Gray is the symbol for security, responsibility, conservative practicality, maturity and dependability.

Think about other examples that show how colors are used in language: ‘Do you have a green thumb?’ ‘Once in a blue moon’ and ‘You look red-hot tonight’- quite interesting, isn’t it?

The ingredients of Visualization and Imagination

Have you thought about your ability to imagine? Have you tested the creative power of visualization?

We are creative mind; we are imagination. Any time a thought arises, we imagine what is, could be, would have been, or was… Our imagination is endless, and we should use it daily and constructively. We can visualize in detail that what we want to accomplish, and thereby intensify the desire. Visualization will make our desire more realistic; it will become tangible.

The instruments that we work with daily are our thoughts and ideas, colored by imagination. Knowingly or not we create constantly by forming a mental picture in our mind, accepting it for real and then manifesting it out into the visible world.

We are reflecting our creative thought back to us like a mirror. Thankfully, we do not manifest fleeting thoughts; we only express what we perceive as possible or real. Unless certainty or feeling is imbued into the thought we will not manifest the vision.

To clarify how consciousness works, it must be pointed out that we have one consciousness with twofold states. One is our conscious consciousness, which controls our daily thoughts and activities. The other is the subconscious, the sum total that stores our past experiences, beliefs, inherent tendencies, taught information, accumulated mass consciousness, and mass beliefs. It is still one (consciousness) with two functions.

Psychologists regard the subconscious as the “pushed back” accumulated ideas of your life. It contains your life experiences starting from birth. One could argue that it started before birth but, this is not the subject of this article.

Knowing how mind works you can now start to awaken your imagination, play with your creative thoughts and envision the best possible life. Like many talents, imagination is dormant in so many people. Their vision is short and predictable, and they do not dare to envision more for themselves. But all of us deserve to dream; it is an important part of our road to a better life.
