A world full of Abundance

Look around you. There are riches as far as you can see. There is wealth everywhere if you just observe nature more closely and open your heart to the Universe.

Unfortunately, so many people complain all day long that they don’t have money. They wished they had more, because they can’t afford this or that. So they continue to dwindle away what they do have by imbuing their awareness with all this negativity. There is this pressing need for money in their minds, because they have not grasped the idea that receiving all you need is a natural way of life, and “all you need” is not necessarily the thing we call “money”. There is an inexhaustible supply of all goods, because all things are made if spirit substance, they are mental in nature. The things you crave are mere reflections of mind-ideas, made solid. As the saying goes, things are “thinks”.

I know it sounds harsh, but poverty is a disease, a dis-easiness of mind. Scarceness, or lack of, is a solid mind-set created since childhood. We are who we believe we are, rich or poor. It’s all in our perception. Think of the children who are born into wealth. They never doubt that there is plenty of everything. They expect all there is to be had. I’m not saying this is necessarily a good thing. I’m just pointing out how the mind-set of people affects their everyday experience.

Let’s look at prosperity from a practical standpoint. Children need to be taught fiscal responsibility from an early age on. Teach them how to save and budget; explain how to manage money and investments. Clarify the miserable results of overspending and the necessity of establishing a healthy balance. Money is not evil in itself; it is here for your comfort and enjoyment. All the goods are gifts from the All-mighty universal power - good in themselves and here for you to put to good use. Your job is to multiply these goods.

Abundance contains much more than money. Abundance includes loads of love, inspiration, goodwill, comfort and all the wonderful feelings associated with having plenty. Having plenty or enough of everything will be an individual experience. What is enough for me might not be enough for you. What you consider to be a rich man might not be what my vision of a rich man is. However, it doesn’t matter how we gage this earthly richness. It only matters what feels right for each of us. Earthly belongings are only good if they instill good feelings within us, otherwise they are clutter – things of this world. True riches are the riches of mind, which include kindness, compassion and most of all love.

So make your mind productive and full of good ideas, not cluttered with negativity, whining and complaining about how you always get the short end of the stick. You cry that everything you do is hard and stressful. What a waste if energy! Acknowledge that money isn’t the only form of riches.  Ideas, inventions, and the job you love, being of service, bringing joy to others like artists with their wonderful creations, all have the capability to create wealth. When work becomes play (observe athletes) or is done with a joyful heart (I love my job!) it becomes a force for abundance. It will attract wealth. Keep your mind busy with the riches of giving, teaching, learning, and most of all creating; creating the life you want!

You are here for a purpose. You are here to find your true place in life. You are here to expand and unfold. I cannot state often enough, appreciate what you already have now. See and feel the good around you. There is enough for every living being on this planet. It only becomes sparse when man misuses nature, or engages in mal-distribution, hoarding for his own, or the greed we see everywhere and the poverty that certain areas suffer. All suffering is man-made. We are the culprits of misery and therefore we have the power to change this dilemma.

Let me end these thoughts with the promise of a more abundant life, by changing our self-imposed prison of these limiting thought concepts. It takes each and every one of us to understand how the laws of mind work. And it takes each and every one of us to make the change. Together we can create a more abundant world for all. What a wonderful way to live!

Visions and Dreams, your individual Desires

Do you think about your visions and dreams? Do you make a conscious effort to achieve your desires? What are your goals in life? Have you fulfilled your childhood aspirations? Have you mastered some of your teenage ambitions, have you even come close to your adult objectives? Take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and really, really think about these questions carefully.

All of us had certain ambitions during our younger years, but over time life has stirred us in other directions or we made decisions which were not in line with the original intent. Many times we allowed others to decide our path for us, we felt powerless and stayed with a job or a relationship that was less than desirable, or we just went with the flow and slowly but surely our once clearly defined path became muddled and dwindled into the far distance. We took the easy way out. Looking back we wonder what happened, “why didn’t I stay with my visions and dreams?” we ask.

Many people just exist, they are not fully living. They react to outer circumstances, rather than acting in accordance to their God-given power of self-management. Instinctively they reach for a higher goal, a more refined being, but many do not succeed. Unfortunately this seeming failure results in future doubts. “Maybe I am not cut out to do this job” or “What if I fail again?” they wonder and their enthusiasm diminishes. Giving up seems easier than sticking with the plan.

However, only when attuned with the mental force that controls the Universe (which we all possess) will we be able to change our destiny and perform the work that needs to be done.

The physical world is merely a reflection of the mental world; it’s not the other way around. Unfortunately the reflection is a mostly imperfect one, as the thoughts produced by us are imperfect as well. Like attracts like, and our thoughts are causative and create everything we hear, see, touch, taste and smell, and most of all they create everything we experience. It is the Law – it cannot be changed.

The mere fact that we can say “I”, “Me”, “My” and recognize the meaning of those words show proof of our awareness of self. This one and only consciousness that is within us, is the great sea of the Universe and we are part, a particle, of this great universal mass – an individual drop in the Universal Ocean.

Our minds activity includes desire. Desire is the active spark that presses for expression as part of our natural thinking process. Our mental picture is the blueprint of our experience, good or bad, and this vision will become our experience. Consciousness always assumes a form in the visible; it automatically manifests its convictions and beliefs. There is only one Mind, one Consciousness. In the individual sense you are Mind, you are Consciousness – you can think. You are aware of your being, you know that you ‘are’, and your sense of self is what is expressed in the form you call YOU.

We, our true substance, is not a changing ‘thing’. We are constant, limitless, powerful, and already perfect. What is changing is our understanding of SELF. Through this change of our understanding, with its triumphs and tribulations, we change the reflection to either good or bad. However, the inevitable growth and self-unfoldment we eventually experience will reflect the glorious calm and happiness that comes with this understanding.

So let’s go back to our visions and dreams and redefine what they mean to us. Let us get the enthusiasm back which we experienced at an early age. And let us shed the bondage of the ego and leave the restrictions of conformity behind.

Ego will always think that we are greater than others and less than we truly are. Ego does not understand the great Truth of our innate heritage of perfection, nor the fact that we are all made of the same substance, imbued with the same Understanding. The only distinction between each of us is the difference of levels of understanding in our quest for unfoldment. Therefore there is an apparent divergence in our life experience.

But there is within us a power of complete liberation, an ability to rectify our mistakes. As long as we live and think a certain way, we will continue to do so without progress, however, when once we use this innate power, our visions and dreams will be fulfilled – but remember, only that which takes root in our minds can become fact. It all rests within us.

It is time to cast off all concepts of limitations and it is time to improve the quality of our thoughts, because what we accept as a permanent mental image, or fact, must manifest in this world. Our dreams, your dreams, will manifest if we stay focused and true to our vision, with the knowledge of the power within.
Can you see the importance? Can you understand that your life has been shaped by your convictions, and you are actually living your visions and dreams right now? If you don’t like the picture you see, know that you can change it at any time – make it your priority. Set goals, dream big, and know that you can achieve anything you set your mind to, because your mind is the most powerful tool you have. I wish you much success!

If I were 22

It’s interesting to imagine yourself younger, less experienced, and still at the beginning of your adult life. Not easy, I admit, not easy at all!

I am in my early sixties, never thought I would say that out loud, but now that I have reached maturity, I realize it’s something to be proud of. I earned everything I have, including wisdom, friendship and love.

My dreams were many at a young age; most of them included leaving the tiny village where I was born. My parents didn’t have any money and sent me to work in a customs declaration office at the age of 15. By the time I was 22 I was a singer traveling with a Top 40 Band all over Europe. I was fearless and eager, the wild child that did what she wanted when she wanted it. Freedom had priority in my life; a career was not on the horizon. With little education, during a time in Europe when woman were still considered to be better off at home with the children, I couldn’t phantom that this limited type of life style could be my destiny. Fortunately I had a quick mind and learned easily, and my gig with the band allowed me to see other countries and experience cultures, languages, and develop my distinct personality.

By 29, life’s circumstances had brought me to Los Angeles. I fell in love with the diversity and creativity of the city. My love affair with the City of Angels  hit me quick and hard. This is what I wanted I thought - this is how life should be. All pieces fell together quickly and easily. I met some of the right people and some of the wrong, I made mistakes but I also made helpful connections, which allowed me to make a decent living. I was doing what I wanted to do. No force, no restrictions, but hard work for sure.

Life went on. I married and had a son. My ex-husband and I owned a real estate development company and opened a restaurant (one of my many dreams) but the marriage didn’t survive and neither did the business. With not much left I packed up and moved with my son closer to the city. Again, the Universe dealt me a card of chances and opportunities which I quickly recognized and used to my benefit. One of my best trades was, and is to this day, that I love to learn a new thing every day. I am a quick thinker and make decisions easily. You have to be fearless at times, especially in the business world.

I was hired by a major Motion Picture Studio as a hostess for their commissary. I had learned a lot by this time, especially about the business side of restaurant management. I worked myself up the ladder one step at a time. I worked hard and I worked many hours, always focusing on bigger and better things. Within a few years I had paid my dues and graduated to the Special Events Department where I excelled. I loved what I did and I couldn’t imagine anything else that would have suited me better. However, the one thing I did in my spare time was to study metaphysics. I had found my true passion, but it wasn’t the time to give up the big job for passion!

About 4 years ago, once again, the time came when I was pushed into a new direction. I took the opportunity with both hands and a full heart. I finally had the time to write and teach and write some more. I published 4 books and I am continuing to write for many magazines and other publications. I am teaching workshops and I delight in the progress of my students. I am free again to do what I wanted to do for all these years, and no one can take it away from me. No one.

You asked me: “Are you where you thought you'd be?” The answer is a simple “yes”. I am further and beyond – I am at a stage that I never dreamt of. In this stage of my life I cannot imagine anything else giving me the satisfaction and joy I am experiencing. But, remember, things change. Stay fluid and open-minded. What you think is the ultimate job doesn’t always turn out to be it. Leave yourself open to new opportunities, and allow the Universe to guide you and keep your heart filled with love.

What do I know now that I wished I’d known then? Maybe to be more selective in the people I associated with, and not to fall for the smoke and mirror at times. Perhaps it could have been an easier ride if I would have known that I had a choice in everything and that I was in control of my thoughts and feelings at all times. But I didn’t know then, and it really doesn’t matter now. What matters now is that I love, respect, and accept who I’ve become. Keep this self-love, self-respect, and acceptance of self, in mind on your journey!

So, if I were22 I would tell myself – keep striving for the dream. Do the best job you can, no matter where you are at the time, because it will lead to greater things. My advice to you dear friends, entering the working world today, is simply to choose a vocation that is in line with your desires. Maybe your first working experience is not the exact dream job, but it can be the stepping stone to what you think you want to be when you grow up, and trust me no one grows up until after they celebrate 50!

Remember, you can change your path at any time, but if you like what you do stay focused, persisted, honest and true to yourself, – no matter what. You might rise at a slower pace but it’s a steady and sound growth that will last for many years. Do what you love, don’t sell yourself short. Be true to yourself. Know that you can, just “…because you can!”
