We all have opinions and certain feelings about situations and people. We also tend to have a certain idea or picture in mind that we pursue with stubbornness and inflexibility. We think that our view is the right one and close our minds to other thoughts, philosophies, and viewpoints.

But are we always right? Of course not!

The question then is, can we let go of our preconceived notions and opinions? Can we accept that we might have made a mistake and are we willing to correct our false interpretation of things? Do we even recognize our shortcomings?

There is no shame in admitting the mistake. There is no guilt necessary in acknowledging that correction is needed.

Always remember that the Universe, the Almighty Power, Intelligence itself, knows best. So, if something doesn’t go our way immediately and seems to point us in a different direction, let’s not fight it. Instead, let’s give it thorough and open-minded consideration: ‘What would happen if I followed the new path?’

Ask yourself: If I follow this new path, will it make me happy? Does it fit into my life style? How does thinking about this new proposition feel, what does my gut feeling tell me? Will it improve my situation? Is it good for all concerned?

There are many more insightful questions we can ask ourselves to make sure we are on the right path and only then should we make our decision, because even though we are the writer, actor, director, editor, and observer of our lives – we must allow the script of life to be flexible and fluid.

The glass is half full...

You’ve heard it a thousand times— is the glass half empty or half full? How do you see your life right now? Is it full of joy or is it lacking? Ask yourself, am I content, happy, or dissatisfied with where I am at this stage in my life?

The truth is: Life is always full, not empty. It is full of opportunities, ideas, and beauty if we’d only look around us. It is filled with love, if we love. It is filled will possibilities and the capacity to fulfill dreams, because we are the makers of these dreams, the fulfillers so to speak. Therefore, we must start seeing the good and full life only – and act accordingly!

Stay positively active and create a happy environment

Mohandas Gandhi once said: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.”

It is the nature of the Soul to move forward and upward and, therefore, your experiences will sometimes reflect greater challenges, obstacles, and tests to keep you in upward motion. Not all of them are positive. You might encounter unpleasantness and pain if you are stagnant, but you will be shoved forward through those challenges. It might not look like it at the time, but you can be sure the spiritual Law of Progress works for all of us.

If you are active and grow through your own doing, learning your lessons along the way, those challenges will lessen and you will live a calmer, happier, more peaceful life. By doing so, you are naturally flowing and working with the Universal current. You are not fighting against yourself.

We need to constantly expand and learn in order to stay stimulated. So pick up a new hobby, read more, learn a new trade, start a new career that you have dreamt about for a long time, or go to school to improve what you are doing right now. Start whatever you think will make you happy. Have the courage for change!

We cannot sit idle and expect things to change. Unless we start right now by changing our part of the world, it will continue to appear the same to us. Yes, we must be the change that we want our mental mirror to reflect back to us!

We are actors of life, what role do you want to play?

Have you thought about this?

We, each and every one of us, plays a role in our daily lives; and every day we slip into different parts of the play as actors do: Mother/father to our children, wife/ husband to our spouse, and, when we visit the doctor, we become the patient. When we go to school, attend classes, or participate in seminars, we become students. Going to work we become a mechanic, nurse, or firefighter. You might play the role of a hero, an intellectual, artist, or a victim.

We act differently in each capacity. We act exactly the way we think this role would act. It’s all within our imagination, and each of us will have a different interpretation of the role.

Even though our role changes and adjusts, there is one component of the ‘real’ us that will stay the same, no matter what part we are playing at the time.

That one part of us that stays the same is our Soul, our true essence. Our thoughts change constantly, our beliefs vary and our convictions are sometimes in line with what other people think, and not what we should have concluded on our own.

The truth is, we are so busy playing the role we chose that we unfortunately neglect the Soul.

Our true mental business is to be busy with the good. We must let go of the acting part. We must be who we are naturally and honestly, so, be who you are!

In essence, you can be a mother without acting like the traditional mother image. You can be a husband without pretending to be the kind of husband you think you are supposed to be. You can be an artist by expressing yourself through your art, but you don’t have create pieces because they are ‘in’ right now. Can you shed the role of victim by taking on the responsibility of victor?

So, what role do you want to play?

“Everything you are against weakens you. Everything you are for empowers you.”
Wayne Dyer

Why is pain so important?

We all experience pain during our lifetime. May it be physical or emotional, pain seems to be unavoidable. We hope and pray that we are spared, but then…there it is, making us uncomfortable, wondering what’s wrong with us, stirring up fear, or worse - tearing us apart and throwing us into depression and despair.

But when we realize that pain is a signal, showing us our mistakes, we are changing our attitude from victim to victor. We finally realize that we can change our experience, even the experience of pain. If we wouldn’t be reminded by this unpleasant, sometimes excruciating pain, we wouldn’t know that we are making mistakes, we would go on and on with the wrong we are thinking and doing.

I’m not saying, we intentionally think and do wrong, but that we have not learned to keep our thoughts constantly at a high-quality vibration, filled will love and forgiveness.
So, the question is: What growth do we encounter through the experience of pain, be it physical or emotional? Can we become grateful for our pains? What do they teach us? Do we see the lesson?

Believe me, pain is a sure signal that we have been on the wrong path, maybe made an error in judgment, or didn’t take care of our basic needs. It shows us that we need to make corrections, physically and mentally.

Therefore, let us say: “May the lesson be revealed to me. May I become stronger, and may I learn from this experience”, - and then move on with joyful expectations of better days to come. There is always light coming our way after a period of darkness. It’s like the dawn following the night…waking up to a new and glorious day. Let us be grateful!
