The hurry - worry syndrome

“Hurry!”, “Rush!”, or “Don’t wait — act now!” Advertising campaigns send these messages to us every day. “C’mon, let’s go!” is what we’ve been programmed to say the minute the light turns green and the car ahead of us hasn’t moved. If a car stops in the middle of the road trying to squeeze into a parking spot that just opened up, it blocks the traffic and we honk our horn and get the finger in return. Is that really behavior of a mature adult? Or is it the manifestation of impatience and an inharmonious state of mind?

We feel the same way when we have to sit for an extra second or two as our computer downloads information we believe we need - immediately! We get antsy staring at our screens and sigh. There is no patience in this type of behavior and it destroys the natural harmony of the body.

Notice how we always have to run to some place; we are always on the go. “I’m so busy all the time,” we complain, “I have no time to myself.” We justify what we do, this busyness, to validate our being. This busyness means we are worthy. We are important.

However, this running around is a wrong sense, (did you hear me say “wrong sense”?) thinking that we are not getting things done in time or we are not being useful, helpful or industrious – aka we’re not worthy, is just plain incorrect. The more we run around, the more we feel we are actually “doing” and this “doing” makes us feel that we are productive. However, this is a mistake and it’s quite the opposite. We don’t have to proof that we are worthy, we are worthy by nature.

Taking a moment, even a quick one, to understand that there is time for everything worthwhile, allowing ourselves to take that time to renew our spirit, that is the correct way of handling our sense of “too much”. Certainly, some deadlines cannot be avoided, or emergencies arise which command our time. Yet, such occasions are not day-to-day occurrences. There is enough time for everything worth doing, even if we have a full schedule. Prioritize and I’m sure you will find the time to do the things you want to do. I’m certain that you will make time to visit dear friends or attend a concert that you’ve been looking forward to. I’m sure you will find the time for whatever strikes your fancy.

The truth is, we have all the time in the world. Just do one thing at a time, and go on calmly with your daily business. This relaxed state of mind will save you the time you think you don’t have. Let’s not hurry so much through life;  know that everything will be done in due time.

Thoughts about the I AM

I AM, this ultimate awareness of self is the most powerful thought we can ever have. Do not underestimate this simple phrase: I AM. It means that we have contained within us everything we ever need to exist and feel alive. It means that we are a living Spirit, Soul, Consciousness. I AM that I AM, and that is all you and I ever need to know.

This I AM, this awareness of being, this acknowledgement that we can feel our aliveness is the only reality, because without it all would be null and void. Our individuality would not exist.

This I AM is the core of all being. All is already contained within us; we are born fully filled with all there is. However, at this point in our unfoldment, we haven’t yet scratched the surface of our true substance.

But we are, however, by showing interest in spiritual matters, looking at all possibilities. Let us reach for our birthright, let us grab what we can see at this point in time, and by diligent application of what we learn through this process, we can grasp more and more. At the end we will see this light that we are yearning for.

How we apply and work with this awareness is maybe another story, but for now let us just feel this wonderful sense of “I AM”, “I exist”, “I AM alive”, “I AM a living being” - and always remember, we are the primal element, the substance of the Universe. Because this I AM is also another name for the Almighty Power, we call God.

Thoughts about the Afterlife...

Many people ask me about the After Life and my answer is always the same. Why worry about the “after”, when we haven’t figured out the “now”? I truly believe that the After Life will fall into place once we are there, which by then will be the NOW. I also truly believe that there is no “after”. Life lives; it is a continues life-thread, and it will only transition to a new, not yet experienced state of mind. Life will evolve naturally, so to speak, into the next dimension. There must be limitless life-dimensions as life, mind, the I AM, is limitless, and we will have to pass through each and every one of them as part of our journey, returning to our source. So let this be a joyous journey, a journey of discovery.

The most important thing we should be concerned right now, is now. What are we doing to awaken our senses? What are we accomplishing to learn about spirit on a daily basis? What are we yearning for in a world of demands and competition? Are we buying into the rat race or are we realizing that we are more important than all the money we could ever earn?

These are the questions I ask of myself and I sincerely hope that I will find all the answers before I will face the “after” life, because by then my understanding will have reached the point that “after” becomes the “now” and this is where I want to be.

The common belief in aging

5/5/2016

How can we come to grips with this phenomenon?

We are all in this together. We are born into a so-called material world with its expression of: birth – youth – adulthood, and then, old age, death. There is seemingly no way out.

But the experience of aging only reflects our wrong sense of the ‘passing of time’. Instead of fearing the inevitable, we need to focus on mature, yet youthful, thinking now. We have to replace the ‘old’ outgrown thoughts with fresh, vivacious, and inspired ones. Healthy thoughts are natural, unhealthy and sick thoughts are unnatural. We need to remember that we are wiser and more capable now than we were in our younger years. We are useful, strong, and in our prime. We are vital members of our communities. Even in our older years we can be of great value if we only use our given talents to enrich someone else’s life.

So let’s live in the now, think in the now, and know that we are looking at a fulfilled and mature state of mind when looking at ourselves. We must feel this truth deep down in our hearts, so we can manifest a healthy and rich life. Let us enjoy ourselves, instead of fretting about getting “older”. And let us always remember how blessed we are!
