The mirror effect

3/31/2016

What you see in others and your surroundings is called the mirror effect. Everything you see and experience is the reflection of you. It reflects what you are thinking and believing NOW. This is a tough one to swallow when things look bleak and not to our liking. But, be assured, there is always truth in the mental “mirror.” Let me give you a few examples.

When we have anger inside we are more likely to be attacked by an angry person. We will see the anger in others and react to it. We will either chime into their negative disposition or feel angrier. Or we will feel justified with our anger, or maybe we will look at them and judge their demeanor.

On the other hand, if we are a happy person, being attacked by an angry person, we will see the anger (if we see it at all – at one point in our unfoldment our consciousness will no longer recognize the “wrong”) and feel compassion only. No need to respond or react; just compassion for the misguided soul. We wish him or her well and move on with our own business. Doesn’t that sound a lot better, a lot more desirable?

The energy we send out (good or bad) will attract the same frequency. When we are confused and overwhelmed, we will attract certain misfortunes. Our car might stop working, our computer breaks down, our handy man doesn’t show up, and so forth. When we are in a bad mood we might get an angry phone call, we get unfair treatment at work, and our world starts looking bleak. We are all over the place and not in the NOW, so we are experiencing this unsettling energy.

The list goes on. However, if we are in good spirit and our frequency is up to par, all pieces of the life-puzzle fall into place easily and comfortably. All of a sudden, the freeway opens up in front of us, we find an easy parking space, we get a love letter in the mail, or an unexpected check shows up in our bank account. All good things will happen if our frequency is a positive and loving one.

When you stay in the NOW, you can only do one thing at a time, one thought at a time. Ask yourself: “What is going on inside of me at the moment? Am I exuding a high frequency, am I up to par with my unfoldment? Am I the best I can be?” (A word of caution: Don’t judge yourself, just be honest and then love yourself for being aware and willing to take the next step.)

Let’s talk a little bit more about the mirror effect. We have established the fact that what we see in others and our surroundings is called the mirror effect. Everything you see and experience, believe it or not, is the reflection of you, your thoughts, and especially your beliefs. It reflects what you are thinking and believing NOW.

But we also have to learn to see ourselves in the reflections of other people. We can learn so much from others and it’s therefore important to nurture relationships. It doesn’t mean we have to hang out with people we don’t like. However, if we come into contact with an unpleasant person (and there is always a good reason for it) we must learn from their disposition, even if it’s the mere acknowledgment of a negativity we still see within; we see this disposition because we still need to correct it within ourselves.

Anytime we perceive something, negative or positive, it shows us that we still identify ourselves with this disposition. Once we let go and correct this character trait, it will no longer show up in our experiences. And remember, we have a choice. And a wise choice would be to hang out with good people, people we can learn from.

Thoughts about healthy mind, healthy body

How many of you are familiar with the concept of the mind-body connection when it comes to health? Most of you will probably agree that positive thinking works in other aspects of life, but what about health? Do you see the connection between a happy, healthy attitude and health?

Metaphysically speaking, what is physical health? Our body and its healthy, or sick, physical state is the visible picture of our sense of self. Our sense of who we think we are. The body expresses our beliefs about sickness and health, all beliefs which we accumulated from early childhood on. Our mothers told us “Don’t go out in the rain or you will catch a cold” or, as mine did: “When the weather changes I get a migraine”. What about “I can feel the weather in my bones”. Even worse: “Breast cancer runs in my family”, it’s genetic, I inherited heart disease from my father, and so on. The beliefs are many. The advertising media tells us that we should take all of those pills or creams, but in the same breath they tell us the unhealthy side effects we might experience when we take them. The medical industry is one of the biggest businesses in the United States, and certainly all over the world.
To make it worse, we have a name for every symptom, hoping that by knowing “what” it is, we can find a cure. However, this is making it into something larger and giving it means, rather than just knowing that it is only the visible manifestation of uneasy or dis-easy thinking; mental uneasiness.
You can trust me when I say, that each and every one of us has a different set of beliefs when it comes down to health.

Many people are not even aware of their power to make themselves sick, or to heal themselves. The ideas that you can make yourself sick through mental means alone will probably make some of you cringe. It will fill you with fear, or you will immediately deny it. But it is a fact.

See, our body is not a material thing. It is not what we really “are”, it’s only what we think we are – see the difference? We took on a body on this plane to have an ID. People in this world need to see us and touch us. We have accepted our bodies as solid. We slap it and we feel pain. We burn it and we feel even worse pain. But this is only because we are convinced that the body is solid. But it is not. It is energy. We are spirit.

Knowing that the mind leaves its visible imprint on the body, we must cease thinking imperfect thoughts and correct our habits and mental moods. We must always have in front of us a perfect image of our self and of what we want to experience. We have to know and accept the complete control that mind has over the body, as many Metaphysicians have pointed out in the past.

So let us change our dis-easy thinking to a harmonious one. Well-being is a harmonious mental state: a state of bliss, good feelings, loving feelings, clean living, and the development of a well-balanced character. Good is a mental quality, a sense of harmony. It is only our lack of understanding that sends us to the doctor, to the divorce court, or the bankruptcy court. The Law works perfectly at all times, we just have to learn how to flow with it rather than standing in our own way.

Wishing you much health!

Don't worry be Happy...thoughts on Happiness

We can all agree that happiness is a state of mind. It is not achieved by any outside forces. No wish fulfilled can make you happy, if you are not already content inside. Well, maybe for a short period of time, but if you are not truly joyful on the inside, this happiness will fade quickly.

We have the freedom to choose happiness over sadness, depression, or anger. Yes, it’s that simple. However, too many times we are stuck in the rut of negative emotions. We absorb this poisonous mental drug and feel alive, but in reality it is killing us, our spirit. Negative emotions are the most dangerous, life-destroying, dis-ease creating, and hazardous feelings you must avoid, and learn to reverse, if you want to live happily and healthy.

We all know that we cannot buy happiness. Money helps, you say, and I agree. But at what cost? Living comfortably is one thing, but living excessively is another. What do I mean by that? Every person on this planet should have enough. Enough food, shelter, pleasant environment and so forth. Nothing is wrong with owning things we love, but to constantly strive for more material things (bigger house, bigger car, bigger boat, you get my drift) is to focus on ego not spirit. We must be happy with what we have been given and appreciate what we have at this moment in time. And then, and only then, with great appreciation for our present abundance, will everything else be added on. Yes, naturally and effortlessly, will we be rewarded with more and more goods. Everything we need will be provided.

Why? Because it is our birthright, being part of this wonderful God, Goodness, to live in abundance. To tell the truth, we already have everything we could ever wish for, but we haven’t been aware enough to see; to clearly see what’s right in front of us.

This infinite presence, this power of the Almighty, is always within us. It is the provider, the nurturer, the protector, the mother Love. So look within you for this place of happiness and peace. The storehouse of riches is within your sub-conscious mind, ready to follow the instructions of your conscious mind.

Nothing blocks our happiness if we allow the Law to work. It’s us who put the roadblocks in front of us. Our thoughts are the only cause in this universe, and a new cause, a new thought, a new feeling, will cause a new effect. If we have produced an erroneous effect we can change it to a better one by purely changing our thoughts, our attitudes, our feelings. It takes practice I grant you, but it’s possible and it’s solely up to everyone of us on how long we want to continue to dwell in a lesser state of mind.

True and lasting happiness will come to you once you realize the power you hold, the dominion you have over your thoughts and feelings, the control you can exude over your emotions, and the awareness of how individual this life of ours truly is. So desire to be happy, reach out for this sunshine buried deep in your mentality and let it shine. This light of mind, which we call happiness, is part of this all-embracing life-force we call God, and we, the children, are made of the same substance, the same quality.

Seasons of Life

3/9/2016

Picture
As the season changes once again and Spring approaches, I can’t help but think of the cycle of Life. I’m cheerfully looking at my garden through my large office patio doors. The plants and bushes are ready to bloom, small green leaves peeking into the warm California sun. Oh, how I enjoy seeing this growth, the unfoldment of nature - reflecting the workings of mind.

Everything we see is a visible expression of our Consciousness; a mirror image of our innermost soul substance. ‘Thought in action’ you might say, acting out our own personal movie. However, in our life’s play we are the writer, director, and actor. We are in charge.

Looking back at ‘winter’, the dormant or reflective time, has passed. A new awakening is in the air. Winter represents a resting period in the mental, a time-out in order to allow rejuvenation shown forth in nature. Renewal, revitalization, refueling of Spirit, and getting ready for the abundant explosion of more Life!

Reminiscing about the gentle awakening of spring; representing the infancy state of Consciousness with its germs sprouting eagerly, unfolding tiny flora and curiously peeking out of mother earth’s fertile ground.  Still small, yet powerful seeds of Life are always pushing upwards towards the light - just like our Soul wants to push upwards towards God’s glory. The gentle warmth of spring embalms our Spirit and gives renewed hope to a new day.

And here we are soon approaching the full splendor of summer. We embrace the life sustaining light and warmth of the sun. We fully absorb this invigorating force and feel the growth our Spirits have achieved.

Youth with its unlimited strength and fearlessness! The ‘summer of our mind’ is the time to reason and to make sound choices, the time to pave our paths. Enjoyment of the moment so desperately yearned for; this is the season to define who we are and to choose the road we will travel.

What does the fall season represent? Autumn reflects ‘maturity of the mind’, fruition, fruit at its best! At last we have come to an understanding of our true purpose in life. We have reached yet another stage in our unfolding process. This season is the culminating mental state that defines who we are at this moment in time.

And so we can rest once again!

Is evil real?

3/2/2016

Picture
There is no evil. This is a tough statement for many, given the many wars and horrific occurrences all over the world. But if we take an honest look at what’s happening we can safely say, that all so-called evil is man-made. There is not evil in reality. There would be no evil if we, the people, would not recognize it as such and realize that the only evil or devil there is, is our own personal hell. We are not talking religion here; we are talking about the seeming reality of evil.

Our own wrong thoughts and wrong doings are causing our evil or wrong experiences, knowingly or not. Even with the best intentions we err at times and the Law of Cause and Effect is always in operation. The punishment for wrong doing is automatic and no one can escape the Law. Yes, we don’t always see an immediate punishment and think that certain individuals got “away with murder”, but their own personal sense will catch up with them, they will get their just reward. The beauty of this statement is, that we do not need to be the judge and the jury. We can, and should, go on with our own wonderful unfoldment, here and now.

While learning the lessons of life, we will put our hand on the hot stove, literally, many times. But if we learn the lesson, we will no longer continue to do so, and therefore all wrong experiences will cease. But if you allow the mistake to continue, it will multiply and in no time the fruits will be rotten.

The wars that we see are gross misuses of mass-consciousness. People destroying people and all the goods this universe has given us. The reward is more killing, more pain. When will the people learn, that only peace will bring peace? We, as individuals, might not be able to heal the world in a day, but we can make a difference in our slice of heaven and keep our sense where it belongs. Up and above!

What do we gain by thinking angry and disturbed thoughts? Nothing but more disturbance and anger. This thought of anger does not hurt or affect the one you are angry about, but it disturbs you, your soul will be damaged. Your mental harmony will be injured and you will feel the ill effects.

What we instead should focus on is the opposite, namely the Allness of Good. This is where the almighty bliss lies. This is where life becomes what it’s meant to be. If we believe in a greater power, whatever your name might be for this all-encompassing force, we must believe that it is good. We must believe that it created all living beings with love, through intelligence, and with perfection.

How do I know that all is good? Because I have studied and tested, learned and failed, tested again and again, until I understood this fact. It is difficult to proof this goodness in mere words. Like the wind, spirit is only visible through its action. I can see the leaves move and I can hear the chimes ring, and so it is with goodness.

This goodness is a mental quality, but also a substance. We have been blessed being of this quality and substance, and we are the only ones who can contaminate this goodness by thinking wrong thoughts. To sum it up, we have to be good and do good so we can experience all the good contained in Spirit. Try it, you will be surprised how simple it is.
