Why do we talk about our problems all the time?

Like everyone else I check Facebook quite often to see what my friends are doing. Social media has become a convenient way to chat with family, see photos of loved ones, reconnect and even find acquaintances who we have lost contact with over time. I think, when used correctly, it can be a fun and informative platform.

However, I’ve noticed that many people post mostly about their problems. Leaving politics aside, and yes, there are inspirational quotes and funny things among the many postings, most times the posts are about troublesome experiences, illness, negativity, abuse and even death.

Why share our innermost troubles and concerns with the world? Why announce it on such a public platform? Why must we talk about our problems all the time? What causes us to think that the answer will come from without and isn’t already contained within our sub-conscious?

What does hearing ourselves speak out loud do to our thought habits? Does it intensify the feeling of being right? Are we expecting feedback from others to validate our behavior? Or are we reaching out for help? Do we look for pity and a hug?

Many questions that need answers. I do know, that focusing on the negative is an addictive and destructive habit. Like all behaviors, when repeated over and over again, will solidify into a habit that will become second nature. It will spill over into our daily encounters, as we are the creators of our experiences.

We must talk about what’s good in our lives, the joys and upsides rather than the daily frustrations, because our sub-conscious will absorb this new positive and correct attitude and make it into a new and improved mind-habit. This will also spill over into our daily encounters, because it works the same way – thinking is causative, good or bad. So why not take the better road? This fresh and improved mind-model of ourselves will turn our experiences into more pleasant ones. But most of all, we must not try to fix the outside, our perceptions of what we see; it’s our inside that needs attention!

Thoughts about Wealth and Abundance

Most people think about wealth in a materialistic sense. They see it as having money, investments, large homes, and luxury. But I prefer the word ‘abundance’, because abundance doesn’t just mean having money; it is a sense of being abundantly supplied with all the good we desire. It represents a wealth of love, patience, courage, health, and all the material things, riches, we aspire to.

Having material things is not necessarily the end all. It’s just part of right thinking about wealth. How do we think correctly about having plenty?

Creating abundance means changing our sense about the meaning of the word. When we hope for riches, yet we say, ‘I don’t have enough, I’m poor, and I lack money,’ the Universe will respond saying, ‘OK, you don’t have enough, you’re poor, and you lack money.’ But if we say, ‘I have plenty, I am abundantly supplied, I have everything I need’—no matter what the circumstances of our lives are at this moment—the Universe will repeat those thoughts and bestow all the goods upon us. However, when practicing, we cannot simply say those words without sincere conviction. We must believe them with all of your heart. We must feel abundance coming from everywhere. We must appreciate every good that comes our way, no matter how small. We must see ourselves enjoying these goods and generously contributing more good (and I’m not talking material things) to the world.

Try it, and you will see a change in your pocketbook!

When problems arise...

We all have to deal with problems every so often. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but they will show up and challenge us to make choices or at least keep us on our toes.

How do you solve your personal problems? Acknowledge them, reason them out, handle them, or just hide? I know hiding them or shoving them under the rug never worked for me. They must be addressed, like it or not.

Any situation can be handled if we are willing to take the time and carefully apply right and positive thought. In a matter of fact, it takes a lot of energy to stay negative. So why not turn it around and transform each challenge into an opportunity to grow and evolve. How can we achieve this?

Watch your inner melodrama; it’s like watching a movie. Be the observer, stay out of it—don’t get lost in it. Just observe. By getting involved in your own movie, you allow yourself to become emotional and fuzzy. Only detachment will keep the mind clear.
Difficult you say? Well, we have a choice. We can either wallow in emotional pain and drama, not making any progress in solving the problem, or we can buckle up and make a concerted effort to resolve our feelings, clear our mind of negativity by turning it around to see only the good, and we can reassure ourselves that all is already good and work from that standpoint.

I, for one, like peace of mind and feeling that I make a difference…and this is achieved by not backing down when problems arise, but instead by acknowledging what needs to be fixed. Then I address the issues one by one with love in my heart.
Let’s get to work!

True Success

The word success, deriving from the Latin language, meaning the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like, can have many definitions. People have been striving for success all of their lives. Some succeed, some fail – but there is always some level of success one can take credit for, if one tries.

Success takes time and focus, persistence and perseverance, as well as a mindset that does not waiver. I think, however, we need to look deeper into the chambers of our hearts to find what success truly means to each of us, individually. First, let us ask the most valid questions: What am I looking for in life? What is it that will make me feel complete? Is it a career in a certain medical field or entertainment industry? Or is it a meaningful relationship that I desire most? Would I like to raise children or travel the world? Is having money a big part of my sense of being successful? There are uncountable responses to these questions, and again a very personal, individual viewpoint, for sure.

We accomplish tasks, small or large, all the time. We are trained to achieve our daily chores and we can call those accomplishments successful. But that isn’t really the gist of it. True success is the fulfillment of our life’s purpose. We can see that looking from this perspective we still have work to do; lots of diligent mental work. Our life’s purpose shall be a worthy cause. Again, it does not matter what this purpose is. We don’t have to be famous or someone extremely educated. But we have to make our lives worthy by being good and loving, helpful and kind. We must contribute to the Allness of Good.

Raising kind and respectful children is success. Living a healthy life style is success. Loving all people you come in contact with is success. Being able to choose your vocation as you please is success.

Passion for what we do, be it a teacher or handyman, a plumber or a clerk, will make us valuable. Being of service and connected to a higher cause or calling, by exuding good energy, will attract a wonderful and pleasant life. We will be operating in a higher frequency with better results.

True long term success requires your heart to be open and receptive. We must make sure that we don’t forget the vital point of keeping our focus on love. Whatever our choice of vocation, or life style, true success is a mindset. It is driven by the knowledge that we can achieve all we want to achieve; it is pure hunger for the achievement of the goal.

So remember, it is up to us to label success. Our dream fulfilled is true success. We don’t have to run after success, but we must live it and know that we cannot be any other way than successful, as it is the law of the universe.
